FAQ

Answered Before You Have to Ask

A running list pulled straight from what people actually say at the counter, updated whenever a new question comes up often enough to write down.

TurnaroundHow fast can a set be ready?

Single clubs are frequently same-week. Full sets typically land in the six-to-nine-day range, depending on how much bending and finishing work a particular order calls for. We'll give you a firm number before you commit, not a range that quietly stretches.

CostDoes a fitting cost extra on top of the parts?

Yes, there's a flat fitting charge listed on the rates page, and it's applied directly against whatever you order afterward. Walk out without ordering and you still keep the numbers — the charge just doesn't roll into anything.

SkepticismIsn't "custom" just a marketing word at this point?

Fair question, and one we'd rather answer with a demonstration than an argument. Bring your current clubs and we'll show you their actual numbers on the scale before touching anything — most people are surprised by what turns up.

Left-HandedDo you carry left-handed parts?

Every category on the wall, yes. It's not a special-order situation on our end.

KidsDo you build junior clubs?

We do, though we're upfront that a junior set is usually a shorter-term build — growth spurts outpace most kids' equipment. Ask about our re-length policy if that's a concern.

No ObligationAm I locked into buying anything by booking a fitting?

No. Plenty of visits end with someone deciding their current set is actually fine, and that's a perfectly good outcome as far as we're concerned.

DistanceWhere do most people drive in from?

Newport News mostly, with a steady stream from Hampton and Williamsburg. A few regulars come up from as far as Suffolk on weekends.

AdjustmentsWhat happens if a build feels wrong once I've played it?

Come back within three weeks and we'll adjust it at no charge while you settle in. After that window, small tweaks are still cheap — see the rate sheet.

Single ClubCan I get just one club checked without a full build?

Absolutely. A lot of our appointments are exactly that — one wedge, one putter, a quick lie check on a driver someone's had for years.

InstructionDo you also give lessons?

No instructor on staff. We'll tell you honestly if we think a lesson would help more than a new club would — see our fitting-versus-lessons page for more on how we make that call.
